The Haven Fall Festival is the largest gala for the community of Haven, Kansas, and takes place the second Saturday of October each year. This combined function of the local Chamber of Commerce and the City of Haven brings amazing scents, sights and delights to the residents of Haven as it hosts thousands of visitors from across our great country. Many local charities use this venue as their primary fundraiser.

The festival celebrates its rural roots in song. The focus of the day-long event is the Bank Haven Stage located at the intersections of Kansas Street and Main. There you will find many talented local musicians such as the renowned steel drum band Tropical Shores (http://tropicalshores.net), the Trash Cats (the local award winning high school percussion group that makes use of ordinary trash cans), the Wildcat Singers (the Haven High choral group) and many others. Also featured on stage are national and regional talents, with a street dance in the evening punctuated by a world-class fireworks display.

The festival entertains the palate. Along the streets of Haven you will find tempting taste treats like roasted corn, barbecue and Amish baked goods and kettle popped corn. You will also find your traditional street eats like corn dogs and cotton candy. There certainly is no lack for the junk food gourmet. Start your morning with the pancake and sausage feed that benefits local a charity, and end the evening with a free hamburger feed compliments of the local merchants and the chamber of commerce.

You will be entertained throughout the day with contests, prizes, crafts and arts, a car show, a Fun Run, a 100k bike ride, face painting, balloons, clowns and the wildest new rides available. Be sure to check the schedule of events for the times on what is billed as the Largest Parade in Kansas (witness this for yourself!) Explore the streets to uncover other exhibitions and surprises planned for your family's whimsy.

Take in the Haven Fall Festival October 9th, 2004. It's the most exciting safe, fun family entertainment you will find in Kansas. Be sure to check local retailers for this year's collectible $2 button that not only helps finance the event, but also will possibly win you a valuable prize. See you in October!
